Art Society

We are a mixed ability group sharing a common interest, a group where we all help each other and where the absolute beginner is as welcome as the professional artist. Members hail from many parts of the north east of the county.
The object of the Society is the appreciation of the visual arts generally, and the improvement of members’ own work by means of demonstrations, criticisms, outings to art galleries, exhibitions and all round encouragement, especially to beginners (there is no selection procedure).

There are facilities for tuition, workshops and outdoor sketching in the summer months, and a social calendar throughout the year.
