there on Wednesdays.

new members will have the opportunity to take part in a wide
variety of other activities including District sports, swimming
and bowling competitions, camps and outings and the thrill and
excitement from the more adventurous activities such as climbing
and canoeing.

Ladybird books celebrated
AN EXHIBITION entitled Ladybird Life,
which celebrates 90 years of Ladybird Books will be on at Charnwood
Museum in Loughborough until October 31.
The Ladybird Life exhibition celebrates 90 years of Ladybird
Books from the very first books printed in the First World War
to the modern international best-sellers. Rare early editions
are on display together with some of the original artwork used
to illustrate them.

to enjoy, including one that allows pupils to make their own
giant sized Ladybird book. There is also a reading corner with
original Ladybird books, old and new, for families or classes
to read together.
Literacy and other national curriculum based activities can be
organised for school and nursery groups on request. For further
